Workplace wellbeing has never been more important. The aftermath of COVID, ongoing war between Russia and the Ukraine and the cost living crisis are all taking their toll on people’s mental health. It can be challenging to stay positive under such circumstances.
I am learning to become Happy and my mission is to share what I’ve learned with others so that they can also learn to be Happy.
Happy employees will help your bottom line.
I recommend supporting your employee’s Happiness because it’s the right thing to do. If that’s not a good enough reason then consider that Happy employees will have a positive effect on your bottom line.
The Stevenson / Farmer review of mental health and employers, Thriving at Work states:
“With the help of an independent study on the cost to employers commissioned from Deloitte, we have also found:
There is a large annual cost to employers of between £33 billion and £42 billion (with over half of the cost coming from presenteeism – when individuals are less productive due to poor mental health in work) with additional costs from sickness absence and staff turnover.”
It goes on to say that, “Deloitte’s analysis of the case studies where investments have been made in improving mental health show a consistently positive return on investment… a finding which is bolstered by a number of academic meta-studies which demonstrate the benefits of good work for mental health and key workplace enablers. As this review is going to press, the Lancet has also published findings from a study in the Australian Fire Service which found that a manager mental health training programme could lead to a significant reduction in work-related sickness absence, with an associated return on investment of £9.98 for each pound spent on such training.”
Increased staff engagement and productivity leads to decreased sickness. When your employees are Happy, your customers are Happy. We offer a variety of workshops, courses and interactive sessions designed to help your employees have more joy in their lives and ultimately become more productive.
